At the University of Hildesheim, the Institute for English Language and Literature, Faculty of Language and Information Sciences, has a vacancy from 01.04.2025 for a position as
Research assistant English Language Didactics / Second Language Acquisition (m/f/d)
(TV-L E 13, 66% - PhD position)
for three years.
Your tasks:
- Participation in research projects of the Chair of English Language Didactics / Second Language Acquisition, including scientific publications
- Pursuing further academic qualifications in foreign language teaching (doctorate)
- Active participation in the development and implementation of research projects of the professorship
- Independent preparation and implementation of courses in English didactics of an average of 2,6 LVS per semester
- Implementation and evaluation of examination formats
- Willingness to undergo further training in higher education didactics is expected
Your profile:
- Successfully completed academic university degree (master’s or comparable) in English with a teaching qualification (TEFL/TESOL)
- Very good English skills (at least C1 level or native speaker)
- Basic understanding of / Willingness to develop skills in quantitative research methodology
- Strong interest in writing scientific texts
- Sound knowledge in Instructed Second Language Acquisition
- Interest in AI, Content and Language Integrated Learning, and/or multilingualism in foreign language teaching
- Initiative, teamwork, and organizational talent
