At the University of Hildesheim, the Institute for English Language and Literature, Faculty of Language and Information Sciences, has a vacancy from 01.04.2025 for a position as

Research assistant English Language Didactics / Second Language Acquisition (m/f/d)
(TV-L E 13, 66% - PhD position)

for three years.

Your tasks:

• Participation in research projects of the Chair of English Language Didactics / Second Language Acquisition, including scientific publications
• Pursuing further academic qualifications in foreign language teaching (doctorate)
• Active participation in the development and implementation of research projects of the professorship
• Independent preparation and implementation of courses in English didactics of an average of 2,6 LVS per semester
• Implementation and evaluation of examination formats
• Willingness to undergo further training in higher education didactics is expected

Your profile:

• Successfully completed academic university degree (master’s or comparable) in English with a teaching qualification (TEFL/TESOL)
• Very good English skills (at least C1 level or native speaker)
• Basic understanding of / Willingness to develop skills in quantitative research methodology
• Strong interest in writing scientific texts
• Sound knowledge in Instructed Second Language Acquisition
• Interest in AI, Content and Language Integrated Learning, and/or multilingualism in foreign language teaching
• Initiative, teamwork, and organizational talent
